Luis Castillo Brings Heat In Spring Debut Monday
10 months agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Luis Castillo looked ready to go in his spring debut Monday, firing two scoreless innings in a 2-0 Cactus League win over the Reds. Castillo's fastball touched 96 MPH as he allowed no hits and a walk with a strikeout. The 31-year-old turned in another stellar season in 2023, going 14-9 with a 3.34 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 27.3% strikeout rate in 33 starts and 197 innings pitched. Given the turbulent pitching landscape last season and his track record, Castillo has moved up into ace fantasy consideration for 2024.
