Long-Term Extension Could Happen For Dalton Schultz
Dalton Schultz has a chance to receive a new deal before July 15, the deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term contracts. Still, it's not a foregone conclusion that it will happen, although NFL Network's Mike Garafolo anticipates discussions between both sides to intensify. Schultz, who had 78 grabs for 808 yards and eight touchdowns, was a vital component of the Cowboys' offensive approach last season. However, with Amari Cooper now in Cleveland and Michael Gallup (knee) potentially missing the start of the year, Schultz may have an even more prominent role.
