2 years agoThe Detroit Lions fired defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant on Monday, according to sources. The Lions lost their fifth straight game on Sunday to the Miami Dolphins and allowed 369 passing yards and three touchdowns to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Pleasant was in his second season in the role for the Lions in 2022. Safeties coach Brian Duker and defensive quality control coach Addison Lynch will take over a big role in the defensive backs room with Pleasant out. The Lions defense has given up a league-high 32.14 points per game, and the 225 points in seven games this year is the second-most they've allowed in franchise history. Pleasant was credited with the development of cornerback Jeff Okudah, the No. 3 overall pick in 2020.
