Lane Thomas Dealing With Plantar Fasciitis
Lane Thomas (foot) is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot and is being evaluated on Wednesday, according to MLB.com's Tim Stebbins. Thomas did not start in the series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, with Angel Martinez making the start in center field. It's the second straight game that Thomas has been out of the starting lineup, and he could be headed back to the injured list for the second time this year. The 29-year-old has had bad luck with injuries so far in 2025 after already having a lengthy stay on the IL earlier this season with a wrist contusion. When on the field, Thomas has gone just 7-for-59 (.119) with no homers, three RBI, two runs and a steal. It remains to be seen how long he'll be out, but either way, Angel Martinez's fantasy stock continues to rise as a center field option in Cleveland.
