Kyle Gibson Continues String Of Strong Starts In Loss
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Kyle Gibson held the Chicago White Sox to just one run over six innings of work during the club's 2-1 loss on Saturday. He also posted a K-BB of 5-2 and allowed six hits. After an opening-day dud, the veteran right-hander has now pitched four straight games with one run or fewer allowed. He's also thrown at least six innings in each of those four appearances. Gibson has added a cutter this season and has thrown the pitch 15% of the time. It's been a reliable swing-and-miss offering with a whiff rate of 50% — almost mirroring the effectiveness of his slider. The 33-year-old is a decent pick-up in fantasy baseball right now if you're starved for pitching.
