Kyle Gibson Continues String Of Strong Starts In Loss
Texas Rangers pitcher Kyle Gibson held the Chicago White Sox to just one run over six innings of work during the club's 2-1 loss on Saturday. He also posted a K-BB of 5-2 and allowed six hits. After an opening-day dud, the veteran right-hander has now pitched four straight games with one run or fewer allowed. He's also thrown at least six innings in each of those four appearances. Gibson has added a cutter this season and has thrown the pitch 15% of the time. It's been a reliable swing-and-miss offering with a whiff rate of 50% — almost mirroring the effectiveness of his slider. The 33-year-old is a decent pick-up in fantasy baseball right now if you're starved for pitching.
