6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander defeated his former team, the Tigers, 3-2 Monday night. Verlander (15-9) struck out 10 batters through seven innings while allowing only two runs. The veteran's return to the team that gave him his start was sure to be emotional and Verlander was up to the challenge. He lowered his ERA to 2.72 and is now 4-1 over his last five starts. After a small bump in the road, Verlander is back to posting elite production off the mound. He will be a top fantasy option when he takes the mound later this week.--Joey C - RotoBaller
