Julio Rodriguez Scratched on Thursday
Julio Rodriguez (undisclosed) was scratched from Thursday's starting lineup against the hosting Houston Astros at Daikin Park for undisclosed reasons, according to Seattle Sports' Shannon Drayer. The Mariners are expected to have an update on Rodriguez after the series opener in Houston, so fantasy managers will want to check back then. With J-Rod out, Leody Taveras is starting in center field and batting sixth against Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. If Rodriguez is dealing with a serious injury that sidelines him for an extended period of time, Taveras would benefit from regular playing time in center in Seattle. It would be bad timing for an injury to Rodriguez, as he's been heating up at the plate in May with a .270/.308/.486 slash line, five home runs, a double, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored in 18 games played.
