After earning his best two finishes of the NASCAR Cup Series season in back-to-back weeks, Josh Berry makes his first start in the Cup Series at Gateway this weekend. He competed in one previous Gateway race in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2021 where he qualified 14th and finished 15th for Rackley W.A.R., roughly commensurate with most of his other runs in that car, indicating he is about as good at Gateway as he is elsewhere. The No. 4 Ford also finished 10th in last year's race here with Kevin Harvick behind the wheel. However, this week's announcement that Stewart-Haas Racing will shut down will likely distract all four of its teams and prevent them from maximizing their performance both this weekend and for the rest of the season. Since none of the SHR cars qualified in the top 20 even though the Fords were fast, it seems probable that Berry will underachieve this weekend.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
