Jose Quintana to Throw Bullpens on Tuesday, Friday
Jose Quintana (shoulder) had a second opinion recently that confirmed the original diagnosis of a left-shoulder impingement that landed him on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 11) on May 14. Quintana is scheduled for bullpen sessions on Tuesday and Friday of this week, according to MLB.com. If those sessions go well, the 36-year-old southpaw could come off the IL as soon as he's eligible next Monday without going on a minor-league rehab assignment. He has posted a strong 4-1 record and 2.65 ERA in his first six starts over 34 innings in 2025 with the Brew Crew, but his 4.57 FIP and weak 6.4 K/9 mark make him vulnerable to regression the rest of the way when he returns from his shoulder injury. Given all the other injuries to Milwaukee's starters, Quintana should have a rotation spot waiting for him next week.
