Jose Altuve Dealing With Sore Heel
1 year agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (heel) is dealing with a sore heel from hitting the bag on a bunt single against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, according to manager Dusty Baker. As a result, he was not in the starting lineup on Sunday in the series finale at Dodger Stadium. The Astros have an off day on Monday, so hopefully Altuve will be able to get back in there on Tuesday for the start of a series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 33-year-old veteran Venezuelan didn't make his 2023 debut until May 19 due to a fractured thumb suffered in the World Baseball Classic, and he's hitting .263 (26-for-99) with three home runs, seven doubles, 11 RBI, five stolen bases and 18 runs in 26 games. Mauricio Dubon will likely continue to play the keystone until Altuve returns.
