Jorge Soler Leaves Early With Back Tightness
Jorge Soler (back) left Wednesday's series finale in New York against the Mets in the bottom of the third inning with back tightness, according to the team. Soler struck out in his lone at-bat before leaving. When Soler left the game utility man Chris Taylor moved from third base to right field for the Halos. The 33-year-old Soler went on the injured list in late June with a back injury, so this is certainly something to watch in the days ahead for the veteran slugger. The Cuban outfielder still has plenty of pop, but he's struggled to make contact in his first year in Anaheim and has hit .216 (60-for-314) with 12 homers, 34 RBI and a 93:28 K:BB in his 81 games played. If Soler were to go back on the IL, Taylor and LaMonte Wade Jr. would be the primary options in right, although Mike Trout could be getting close to returning to the outfield, too.
