Jordy Mercer Re-Signs With Tigers
5 years agoThe Detroit Tigers re-signed shortstop Jordy Mercer to a minor league deal on Thursday. He'll receive an invite to spring training. Mercer played in only 74 games for Detroit in 2019 due to injury, but he did hit a respectable .270/.310/.438 with nine home runs and 22 RBI. Still, he's a glove-first player that won't offer fantasy owners much with his bat, and he's not even guaranteed to see regular playing time with a rebuilding club if he makes the major league roster. At best, Mercer is bench depth in AL-only leagues at middle infield.
