Jordan Westburg Going on Injured List
Jordan Westburg (ankle) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a sprained right ankle and will add infielder Vimael Machin to the active roster in a corresponding move, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. Westburg will head back to the IL after spraining his ankle on Monday. It is unclear at this time if he'll be able to rejoin the major-league roster when he's eligible to come off the IL on Aug. 29. Until the 26-year-old is able to return, the O's will likely go with a platoon at the hot corner in Baltimore between Luis Vazquez and Jeremiah Jackson. Vazquez will get the start at third for Friday's contest at Camden Yards against the visiting Houston Astros. Westburgh just has not been able to stay healthy in 2025 in his third year in the majors, although he has still managed to hit a useful .276 (78-for-283) with 15 home runs and 34 RBI in 73 ballgames.
