John Wolford Making The Start In Week 17
4 years agoWith Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff (thumb) out after having surgery to fix a broken and dislocated thumb he suffered in the Week 16 loss to the Seahawks, former AAF QB John Wolford will see his first snaps in the NFL in a win-and-in Week 17 matchup against the Cardinals. The Wake Forest product spent time with the Jets in 2018 and then in the AAF with the Arizona Hotshots, completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 1,617 yards (second-most in the league), 7.8 yards per attempt and a league-high 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Wolford has 22 fewer NFL pass attempts (zero) than Rams punter Johnny Hekker. The 25-year-old has some speed and can move around, but fantasy managers will want to avoid him, especially with top wideout Cooper Kupp out due to COVID-19.
