Jimmy Garoppolo A Viable Option For Raiders?
2 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders appear ready to move on from quarterback Derek Carr this offseason after benching him for the final two weeks of the regular season. A source told Dan Patrick that head coach Josh McDaniels might opt for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who will be an unrestricted free agent heading into 2023. There is also speculation that Tom Brady would be an option for Vegas, but Jimmy G would likely be cheaper and more of a long-term piece. McDaniels has history with both Brady and Garoppolo from his time as the offensive coordinator in New England. Garoppolo has had success in his six seasons with the Niners, but he's been a glorified and injury-prone game manager with a low fantasy ceiling. Moving to the Raiders could arguably make him slightly more attractive.
