Jesus Sanchez Homers in Marlins Loss on Monday
Jesus Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a walk out of the leadoff spot for the Marlins on Monday night. He homered in the second inning off Randy Vasquez to increase his team's lead to 3-0, but the team's bats went silent for the rest of the night, and the Padres walked off winners in the 11th inning. Sanchez also singled and scored in the first inning but was caught stealing in the fifth inning after working a walk. The home run gives Sanchez three long balls on the season. He's hitting just .231 but has a 41.3% hard-hit rate that should result in his average and slugging trending up if he continues to hit the ball so well. He has hit leadoff in nine of the last 10 games for Miami and has gone 9-for-36 (.250) with four extra-base hits and a .388 wOBA. He's definitely on the radar for DFS and streaming use at this point, and if he keeps producing from the top of the order, he could be fringe mixed-league material soon.
