Jermar Jefferson Could Miss Some Time
3 years agoDetroit Lions rookie running back Jermar Jefferson's ankle injury might not be as bad as the team initially feared, but head coach Dan Campbell said that he could wind up missing some time after getting carted off the field in the Week 10 tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 21-year-old seventh-rounder had three carries for 41 yards and his second touchdown of the season with Jamaal Williams (thigh) missing his second straight game. If both Jefferson and Williams miss the Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns, Godwin Igwebuike, who also scored on Sunday, would be the backup to D'Andre Swift. Swift saw a career-high 33 carries in the tie against Pittsburgh and could be in for another heavy workload this weekend if both Williams and Jefferson are inactive.
