Jaylen Warren Now The Starter?
1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren said head coach Mike Tomlin told him on Saturday night that he would be the starter over Najee Harris for the first time this year in the Week 10 win over the Green Bay Packers. "He did kind of mention the night before that whatever had transpired throughout the team, he was saying that he was going to announce me and that I'm deserving of it," Warren said. In the last two games, Warren has 26 carries for 188 rushing yards (7.2 yards per carry), including nine rushes of 10-plus yards (first in the league) and 14 missed tackles forced (first). The 25-year-old had 15 carries for 101 yards and a TD in the win over the Packers and caught two of four targets for nine yards. Meanwhile, Harris had 16 carries for 82 yards and a TD. Both RBs will be utilized, but Warren has earned a bigger workload in Pittsburgh's backfield the rest of the way.
