Javonte Williams Has Team-High 57 Receiving Yards In Week 12
3 years agoDenver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams carried the ball 14 times for 54 yards and his second touchdown of the season, but he made his biggest impact through the air, catching a team-high-tying three passes on four targets for a team-high 57 yards in the 28-13 Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He had one fewer touch than Melvin Gordon, but he outgained his backfield mate 111 to 88. Williams has been more explosive than Gordon in this evenly split backfield, but his touchdown on Sunday was only his third time visiting the end zone in his rookie season. The Broncos had the luxury of eating up clock with their ground game while playing in the lead all day against the Broncos, and Williams benefitted. The presence of Gordon eating up touches will continue to limit the promising rookie's fantasy upside moving forward, though.
