Jared Goff Expected To Continue Going Downfield
3 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff pushed the ball down the field in the passing game more in last week's win over the Minnesota Vikings than any other week this year, and it's a big reason why Detroit won their first game of the year. Offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn said that Goff's receivers are earning his trust more by making big plays down the field. Lynn expects Goff to continue taking more shots down the field. He's going to have a tough task against the Denver Broncos defense on the road this Sunday, as the Broncos allow 220.3 passing yards per game (10th-best in the NFL). The Broncos also give up only 19.5 fantasy points per game to QBs in 2021 (fifth-lowest in the league). Goff will continue to be a low-end QB2 despite his nice game in Week 13.
