Jalen Beeks Scheduled to Start on Thursday
7 years agoWith Drew Pomeranz being placed on the disabled list Tuesday, the Boston Red Sox need someone to start on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers. That man will be lefty Jalen Beeks, who will be set to make his major league debut. Beeks has spent all of 2018 with the Pawtucket Red Sox in Triple-A. He has compiled a 3-3 record through 10 starts to go along with a sparkling 2.56 ERA. The 24-year-old was a former 12th-round pick of the Red Sox. In terms of fantasy relevance, it seems unlikely that Beeks will stay with the team after Thursday. However, he could be an interesting streamer for fantasy owners who like to live on the edge.
