Jaguars Acquire Calvin Ridley From The Falcons
2 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars acquired wide receiver Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday in exchange for complex draft compensation that can be worth a maximum of a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 fourth-rounder, according to sources. Ridley is suspended through at least this season. If he gets reinstated by a certain date, the Falcons will receive a fifth-rounder next year, otherwise it's a sixth-rounder. If Ridley makes the Jags roster in 2024, it's at least a fourth-round pick. If he hits a playing-time milestone, it will be a third-round pick, and if the Jags get a long-term deal done with him, it will be a second-rounder. As long as he's reinstated, Ridley could become Jacksonville's No. 1 receiver as early as next year, which is good news for quarterback Trevor Lawrence's long-term prospects. Ridley had 90 catches, 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games just two seasons ago.
