J.D. Davis To Be Activated On Friday
3 years agoNew York Mets third baseman J.D. Davis (finger) has joined the team in Pittsburgh, and the Mets plan to activate him from the injured list to begin the second half of the season on Friday. Davis has been on the shelf since May 3 with a sprained finger on his left hand. He was hitting a cool .390/.479/.610 with two home runs and seven RBI in 41 at-bats earlier this year before his injury, and he also slashed .370/.528/.852 in 10 rehab games for Triple-A Syracuse. If Davis continues to hit in the big leagues, the Mets will find him regular playing time, at the expense of veteran infielder Jonathan Villar most likely. The 28-year-old should be picked up now if he's still available on your league's waiver wire.
