J.C. Jackson Benched In Win Over Broncos
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers signed cornerback J.C. Jackson to a five-year, $82.5 million deal in free agency in March, but Jackson hasn't lived up to that contract through the first six weeks of the 2022 season. He missed the first two games due to offseason ankle surgery and has struggled since his return, most recently being benched in Monday's overtime win over the division-rival Denver Broncos. Entering Week 6, Jackson had allowed 15 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns while being targeted 20 times. He was called for pass interference early in the game and blew a coverage when Broncos rookie tight end Greg Dulcich walked into the end zone for a 39-yard touchdown. Jackson was an All-Pro in New England in 2021, but so far he's struggling in more zone coverage in LA.
