Ivica Zubac 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoHeading into his first full season as a member of the Clippers, center Ivica Zubac is aiming to proliferate his strong close to the 2018-19 campaign. After a mid-season acquisition from the Lakers, Zubac averaged 9.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game over just 20.2 minutes per contest, starting 25 of the 26 games he appeared in with the Clippers. The franchise will take on a new look in ’19-20 with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George joining the mix, but Zubac figures to remain a key part of the Los Angeles roster as the true center of the group. He’ll likely draw significant interest in the DFS market early on with his low price tag due to his ability to rack up numbers despite his capped playing time. With that being said, he remains a risky season-long play until head coach Doc Rivers shows a willingness to deploy the 22-year-old with more frequency. After injuries freed up minutes during his Lakers tenure last season, the big man notched eight regular-season double-doubles before adding another in the playoffs versus Golden State, showcasing his potential when given ample playing time.
