Los Angeles Kings left wing Ilya Kovalchuk couldn't reach the heights that he and many fans expected him to in his comeback year, but the Russian veteran finished things off on a high note, scoring twice in a 5-2 win over Vegas. He started and finished the scoring, with Jeff Carter, Matt Roy and Anze Kopitar finding the net as well. Dustin Brown had two assists. Kovalchuk finished the season with 16 goals and 34 points in 64 games. Among all forwards in the league, only Bobby Ryan did worse than Kovalchuk's minus-26 rating. The Kings will be demanding a lot more from a guy who's cashing in over six million a year on a three-year deal.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
