Ian Seymour Strikes Out Six on Tuesday
Ian Seymour got back on track on Tuesday for Triple-A Durham, allowing one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings of work. The former second-round draft pick hit a rough patch over his last three starts before Tuesday, allowing 10 earned runs in 13 2/3 IP (6.59 ERA), although there were still strikeouts aplenty, tallying 23 of them during that stretch. The southpaw leads all minor league pitchers in strikeouts with 84 on the season, and after Tuesday's outing, the 26-year-old owns a 2.95 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP through 61 innings. Seymour could be in the big leagues within the next couple of months, and would be a worthy waiver add in deeper and AL-only leagues for the strikeout upside.
