The Kansas City Royals have sent pitcher Ian Kennedy to the bullpen to start the season. It will be Kennedy's first time pitching out of the bullpen since 2009, but he absolutely wasn't working as a starter for the team. Kennedy has alternated between being bad and atrocious over the last two years, so something had to give. He'll make $14 million this year and next, but if a move to the bullpen can work nearly as well as it did for the likes of Wade Davis, perhaps Kansas City can still salvage a sliver of value out of him. Manager Ned Yost reported that his velocity has jumped up by working out of the bullpen during the spring, so maybe this will work.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
