Grayson Rodriguez Hit Hard In First Playoff Appearance
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles rookie right-hander Grayson Rodriguez, one of the best young pitchers in baseball, didn't fare too well in his first postseason appearance in Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez made it only 1 2/3 innings while allowing five earned runs on six hits while walking four and striking out only two to take the loss and put the Orioles on the brink of elimination. The 23-year-old former 11th overall pick in 2018 has a bright future ahead of him and will be a popular fantasy selection in 2024 drafts despite his rough first playoff start. In 23 starts in his first big-league season, Rodriguez went 7-4 with a 4.35 ERA (3.93 FIP), 1.34 WHIP, 42 walks and 129 strikeouts in 122 innings.
