Giants Cut Jonathan Hilliman, Sign Javorius Allen
5 years agoThe New York Giants waived running back Jonathan Hilliman on Friday and signed free-agent running back Javorius Allen in a corresponding move. Hilliman had his first career NFL start on Thursday night against the Patriots with both Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Wayne Gallman (concussion) out. He responded with 11 carries for 38 yards. Buck Allen will be brought in instead to provide depth behind Barkley, who could return in Week 7. Allen had 41 rushing attempts for 110 yards (2.7 yards per carry) and three touchdowns in 14 games in his final season with the Ravens in 2018. He can remain on the waiver wire in most leagues.
