Framber Valdez Impresses Again
6 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez was impressive again on Wednesday, tossing 5 1/3 innings of one-run baseball as the Astros beat the Twins 9-1. The rookie left-hander has been fantastic in each of his first four starts, allowing no more than one run in each start. Valdez (3-1) has allowed only 11 hits in 19 2/3 innings of work and currently carries a 1.07 WHIP. Manager A.J. Hinch has been cautious thus far with Valdez' workload, not allowing the young pitcher to throw more than 90 pitches in a start. If the team allows Valdez to get stretched out further, his fantasy value could increase even more. The rookie certainly could be worth an add on a short-term basis for his next start.
