Falcons to Interview Antonio Pierce for Head-Coaching Job
The Atlanta Falcons will interview former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce for their head-coaching job later this week, sources told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Pierce interviewed for the New York Giants' head-coaching job last week and will meet in person with his former CBS colleague Matt Ryan and Atlanta's front office. The former Giants linebacker got his first coaching gig in the NFL in 2022 as the Raiders' linebackers coach under Josh McDaniels. He ended up taking over as Vegas' interim head coach in 2023 when McDaniels was fired, and was eventually named the full-time head coach in 2024. Pierce was fired after one season, going 4-13. His familiarity with Ryan could give Pierce the upper hand for the job in Atlanta, but he still feels like more of a long shot for the Falcons as they look to replace Raheem Morris.
