Eagles Not Talking About Trading Carson Wentz
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman wouldn't discuss the idea of trading quarterback Carson Wentz on Monday after the team benched him in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts late in the season. "That is not anything we're talking about right now," Roseman said. Wentz will count for more than $30 million in salary cap space whether he's on the roster or not, so they'll have a tough decision this offseason. Wentz was outplayed by Hurts this year, but it's unclear at this point if Philly will give him another shot in 2021. The 28-year-old finished with 2,620 yards passing on 437 attempts (career-low 57.4 completion percentage), 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also was sacked a career-high 50 times and lost four fumbles. Wentz's dynasty stock has fallen, but it's impossible to gauge his single-year value for next season until things become more clear in Philadelphia.
