Drew Brees Becomes First QB To 80,000 Yards
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees became the first player in NFL history to throw for 80,000 yards in the Week 16 win over the Vikings on Christmas Day on Friday. Brees, the league's all-time career passer, entered the game needing just 154 yards for the record. The future Hall of Famer finished the game with 311 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions against Minnesota. Brees could be joined by Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady soon, as he enters Week 16 with 78,457 career passing yards. Entering Saturday, Brees has 568 career touchdown passes, while Brady has 573. Brees didn't have a touchdown on Friday, but he completed 73 percent of his passes and went over 300 yards. It wasn't the performance his fantasy managers were hoping for, but he'll once again be at least a low-end QB1 in Week 17 against the Panthers.
