Domingo German To Kick Off Second Half For Yanks
3 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Domingo German will kick off the second half of the season on Thursday by starting against the division-rival Boston Red Sox. German has had his ups and downs this year after sitting out all of 2020. The 28-year-old has a 4.44 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 75/19 K/BB in 17 appearances (15 starts) covering 81 innings pitched. He hasn't started a game since June 30 after being scratched from his last outing due to a root canal on a tooth. German won't be a recommended DFS play on Thursday evening because of the fact that he hasn't even gone four innings in his last three appearances, and he hasn't gone into the fifth inning of an outing since June 6. He's sporting a career-low 5.6 percent walk rate, which is nice, but he also has a career-low 21.9 percent strikeout rate.
