Dolphins Trade For Jeff Wilson Jr.
2 years agoThe Miami Dolphins acquired running back Jeff Wilson Jr. from the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2023, according to a source. The move comes shortly after the Dolphins sent running back Chase Edmonds and two draft picks to the Denver Broncos for edge rusher Bradley Chubb. Both Raheem Mostert and Wilson spent time with Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel in San Francisco. Wilson's fantasy value took a nosedive after the Niners acquired Christian McCaffrey, and although he'll likely be backing up Mostert in Miami, his rest-of-season outlook may have slightly improved. The 26-year-old had 92 carries for 468 yards (career-high 5.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns on the ground, adding 10 catches for 91 yards through the air, in eight games in 2022. Wilson should slot in behind Mostert and ahead of Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin in Miami.
