1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly the front-runners to trade for Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Machado will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so the Orioles will likely trade him before the July 31 non-waiver deadline in order to get something in return rather than lose him for nothing. The Dodgers, who are currently 2.5 games out of first place in the National League West, have a hole at shortstop with All-Star Corey Seager out for the season after having elbow surgery. Machado has had an excellent season, hitting .301 with 19 home runs and 55 RBI and would definitely be a welcome addition to the Dodgers. A trade to almost any team would raise Machado's fantasy value, but it would certainly raise it if he went to the Dodgers.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
