Dodgers Acquiring Tyler Glasnow, Miguel Margot From Rays
12 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed with the Tampa Bay Rays on a deal that will send right-hander Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot to the Dodgers for right-hander Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny DeLuca, contingent on Glasnow signing an extension with the Dodgers, which is expected, according to sources. The 30-year-old Glasnow was set to become a free agent after 2024, but he'll now sign a long-term extension with LA and is the kind of big top-of-the-rotation arm the Dodgers were looking for. Glasnow has an elite 30.9% strikeout rate in eight seasons in the big leagues, but health as been his issue, not going over 120 innings pitched. With Mookie Betts spending a lot more time at second base in LA moving forward, Margot could have a chance to carve out a fourth-outfield, platoon role for the Dodgers.
