Denny Hamlin Going For His Fourth Darlington Win
4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin will start from the second position in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Hamlin is on pace to have his best career year in 2020, coming into the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with six wins, second behind Kevin Harvick. Hamlin is still looking for his first championship, and this may be his best shot yet. He enters Darlington with six top-five finishes in the last eight Cup races. Hamlin's record at Darlington is pristine. In 16 career starts, Hamlin has three victories, nine top-fives, and 13 top-10 finishes. One of those three wins includes the most recent race, the second of the May double-header. Hamlin is at the top of the charts in salary for DFS, but no one can deny his record at the track and his hunger to capture an elusive title. Players should not be deterred by his cost, as Hamlin will have the No. 11 at the front all night.
