David Fletcher Extends Hit Streak To 13
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder David Fletcher extended his hitting streak to 13 games Monday going 1-for-4 against the Cubs. Fletcher is now batting .322 on the season with an OPS of .836. Fletcher has been mostly empty batting average this season as he has very little pop, but he does have five stolen bases and has scored four runs in the past three games as the leadoff hitter. If he can stay at the top of the lineup that would be a major boost to his value in rotisserie leagues. Fletcher has upside in points leagues too however, his MLB best 5.9 strikeout rate gives him a very safe floor in that format. He should be started while on this streak especially with his upcoming matchups. He'll play three against the Athletics but then is scheduled to face four straight left-handed pitchers, a good sign for the righty-swinging Fletcher.
