Darrynton Evans 2021 Outlook: Not the Handcuff You Think He Is
4 years agoThe Titans spent a third round pick on Darrynton Evans in the 2020 NFL draft. Taking a running back on day two matters because it drastically increases the odds he eventually matters. That seemed to indicate Evans would be the primary backup to Derrick Henry, but Evans' rookie year was mired by injury. He missed 10 games with two separate hamstring strains. The Titans utilized Jeremy McNichols and Khari Blasingame last season and then went out and signed Brian Hill away from Atlanta this season. There's no guarantee Evans would benefit from a Henry injury, which makes him impossible to draft in redraft leagues. Henry has missed exactly one game in his entire career and seems impervious to injury. Not only does Henry have a low probability of getting hurt, but it's likely Evans would split with Hill, at best, even if something did happen to Henry. Target someone else as the last running back on your team.
