Darrell Henderson Jr. Losing Touches In Confused Backfield
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. The 25-year-old is averaging 5.4 carries in the past five games and only had four carries in the last game, a blowout loss to the 49ers in which he did not start. Ronnie Rivers out-snapped him, but Henderson gained more yards per attempt. Coach Sean McVay said Rivers started because Henderson was suffering lingering effects from a bad flu. After having a Week 9 bye, Henderson has had some time to recover, but it is unclear if Rivers and fellow RB Malcolm Brown will continue to split snaps with him. Cam Akers has also returned to practice after missing some time with due to disagreements with the team. The Bucs defense ranks in the bottom half of the league when it comes to defending the run, but the Rams rushing offense is also bottom half. Henderson is a poor quality start this week.
