Commanders Release Jaret Patterson
1 year agoThe Washington Commanders released running back Jaret Patterson on Monday, according to a source. There's still a chance that Patterson returns to Washington's practice squad to open up the 2023 regular season. He had eight carries for 51 yards in the preseason finale last week, but it still wasn't enough to keep him on the 53-man roster heading into Week 1. Behind Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson in the Commanders' backfield, the team also has rookie Chris Rodriguez Jr., Jonathan Williams and Derrick Gore. The 23-year-old Patterson saw 85 carries for 344 yards and two touchdowns while adding 10 receptions for an additional 73 yards in 20 games (one start) in his two seasons in D.C.
