4 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said that running back Christian McCaffrey (quadriceps, shoulder) is doubtful to play in Week 16 against the Washington Football Team. McCaffrey has only played in three games this season due to injury, so it's unlikely that he'd return for the season finale in Week 17. After being the consensus No. 1 overall fantasy pick in 2020, the 24-year-old All-Pro just couldn't stay on the field after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 2 against the Buccaneers. He injured his shoulder in his return in Week 16 against the Chiefs and has been out since. Mike Davis should continue to be the team's featured back against a tough Washington defense, but he'll continue to have RB2 appeal for those that have made it to their fantasy championship. Despite McCaffrey missing most of this year with injuries, he should be in consideration for the top overall fantasy pick again in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
