Chris Sale Throws Successful Simulated Game
3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) struck out three of the four batters he faced during a 15-pitch simulated game on Wednesday at Fenway Park. Sale topped out at 95 mph with his fastball and looked impressive during the session. The 32-year-old is slowly making his way back from Tommy John surgery and is expected to make his season debut at some point in the second half. Sale may not make his return until late July or even at some point in August. While fantasy managers have every reason to stash the southpaw because of his All-Star ability when healthy, they need to temper expectations and not be surprised if we don't see vintage Sale upon his return. He could start a rehab assignment around the All-Star break.
