Chase Elliott On The Pole For Race One At Dover
4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott will begin from the pole position in Saturday's Drydene 311 (Race 1) at Dover International Speedway. Elliott is coming off of a dominating performance, leading over half of the Daytona Road Course race and collecting his second Cup win of the year. While the win was obviously great for Elliott and the No. 9 team, it remains to be seen if this was a one-off because of Elliott's road course success, or if the team has found some of their early-season speed. Dover will be a great track to figure this out, as Elliott has an impressive record. In eight starts at the one-mile track, Elliott has a win and six top-five finishes. For starting at the front, Elliott does cost a good amount of money in DFS, but he has shown in the past that he can command a race at Dover.
