Chase Elliott A Sure Bet For The Daytona Road Course
4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott will start from the seventh position in Sunday's Go Bowling 235 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. Elliott and the No. 9 team have not truly contended for a victory in almost two months, but this Sunday's race provides Elliott with a great opportunity to return to prominence. In his short Cup Series career, Elliott has proved to be one of the best road course drivers. Three of seven of Elliott's career victories come at a road course, including his first career win at the 2018 Watkins Glen race. Elliott then whooped the field in the 2019 race, leading 80 of 90 laps. To top it all off, Elliott made a spirited comeback, after piling into the turn one tire wall, to win the 2019 Charlotte Roval race. Elliott is expensive in DFS, but his track record at road courses makes him an attractive lineup choice.
