Chargers Part Ways With Anthony Lynn
4 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers fired head coach Anthony Lynn on Monday. The 52-year-old went 33-31 as the head coach in four seasons at the helm. Lynn guided the team to a playoff appearance in his first two years, but he posted losing records each of the last two seasons. The Chargers won their final four games this season, but they came after the team had already been eliminated from playoff contention. Seven of the team's losses in 2020 were by one possession, with three defeats decided by three points or less. Injuries to key players didn't help, as the Chargers dealt with injuries to Derwin James, Mike Pouncey, Trai Turner, Austin Ekeler, Bryan Bulaga, Chris Harris Jr. and Melvin Ingram this year. Despite the move, the Bolts have plenty of talent on the roster, and rookie quarterback Justin Herbert set a record for touchdown passes as a rookie.
