Cedric Mullins Avoids Arbitration
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles and outfielder Cedric Mullins avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $4.1 million deal. Mullins was a first-time All-Star for the O's in 2021 in his fourth big-league season, but he wasn't nearly as good in 2022, hitting .258/.318/.403 with a .721 OPS, 16 home runs, 64 RBI, 89 runs scored and a career-high 34 stolen bases in 672 plate appearances and 156 games. The 28-year-old really struggled against left-handed pitching in 2022, so he'll need to improve in that area if he wants to play every day and return to his 2021 form at the plate.
