Philadelphia Phillies outfield prospect Carter Mathison (undisclosed) was placed on the seven-day injured list on Wednesday while at Single-A Clearwater. There are no indications as to what exactly the injury was, however, Mathison came out of the game on July 22 after making a defensive play in right field. The Phils' 27th-ranked prospect has had a rough go of it this season, batting .190 with a 35.3 percent strikeout rate, although he'd been somewhat better as of late, collecting a hit in five of his last six games. The 2024 fifth-rounder owns a 12.3 percent walk rate and has blasted seven home runs, so there are some positives to take away, but he'll need to make more consistent contact if he's going to make a push for a promotion, and for now, he's off the fantasy radar.--Jarod RuppRead More News
